    10. This will be short and to the point. Your congregation needs your active assistance. I bring two opportunities to demonstrate service to your Lord. The Trinity United Prayer Chain needs more prayer partners. We have seen prayer works in our lives and those we petition before the Almighty. The Lord wants us to use it. The other opportunity is to serve as a church offering counter. I will be calling many of you to give of your time before the Lord on your knees to petition the needs of fellow members,
friends, and issues of our community. CHURCH OFFERING COUNTERS Are you willing to answer the call to serve to ensure the proper recording and depositing of our church offerings? To make sure that our financial giving is properly recorded and deposited in the bank.

    2. Dealing with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS, formerly the INS) can be a daunting experience that means long lines, and even longer forms. What better way than giving a few hours, one Saturday a month, donating your time with the furniture outreach. There are people who are facing a hardship for one reason or another. They need furniture, beds, baby items, etc. and we have people in Lake County willing to donate these items. Won't you join us in getting these items to the people who need them? 12. Disaster Relief
Unfortunately, the new year is beginning with major international disasters. The volcanic eruption in the Congo, together with the continuing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, are events that call for our church's members to respond. These are places where the ELCA, through its International Disaster Response arm, was present to offer help in the first hours following the disaster's outbreak. In these and other disaster locations, our church is grateful to have partners, such as Lutheran World Relief and the Lutheran World Federation, that have long worked in relief and development and therefore can be ready to respond immediately when disasters strike. Now, these same partners will remain in these places long after the media's attention wanes.
Last year, Lutherans responded it overwhelming and generous ways to the tragic events in our country and abroad. Please help our church continue to carry out its mission to people in great need in all corners of God's world.

Day of Pentecost: Red as the color of fire is used on this day when we remember the tongues of fire descended on the crowd in Jerusalem. In contrast to the color of scarlet, Pentecost’s red is a bright color.
The Holy Trinity: White is appointed, the expression of joy in the mystery of the Triune God.
Other Sundays after Pentecost: Green is used, to indicate our growth in faith as we follow the teachings and ministry of Christ.
