COOPERATIVE News:
Sagrado Corazon Update Recently, North conference pastors received an email from Pastor Carol Breimeier with the following update on Sagrado Corazon:
“The latest on Sagrado Corazon: Hector has met with them (and has another meeting set for early April). They continue to have good numbers for worship, but a steadily small income from offerings. They are asking for a year to spend in discernment of how best to go forward. They are arranging with Jose LeBron to provide them with a little more pastoral time per week, beyond Sundays. And they are going to draft a letter to the North Conference churches to lay out their plans and ask for patience in expectation of clarity at the end of their discernment process. (They are not using their savings, but are going to spend only what they bring in as they go.) In the meantime, Hector continues to work with them to do a slightly modified version of the call process so that this is both a good process and an educational opportunity for the leaders of the congregation. We (synod staff) were disappointed when Hector was told by the leaders that they will not consider a woman for the pastoral call. We had someone we thought was a strong candidate for them. How this will work out—and how the Spirit will work in this— we will see.”
Day of Pentecost: Red as the color of fire is used on this day when we remember the tongues of fire descended on the crowd in Jerusalem. In contrast to the color of scarlet, Pentecost’s red is a bright color.
The Holy Trinity: White is appointed, the expression of joy in the mystery of the Triune God.
Other Sundays after Pentecost: Green is used, to indicate our growth in faith as we follow the teachings and ministry of Christ.
